Acupuncture Chart

IAA presents an high quality and user-friendly Interactive Acupuncture Chart (Acu-Chart). It is located in the right half panel of the Operation Window. When a meridian/acupoint is selected by the user or a therapy protocol is executed, the relevant image will be automatically displayed. There are some neat and useful features to this interactive acupuncture chart.

To access these features, right click the mouse and bring up the popup menu as shown in the following screen shot.

Arrow Indicator: When this is selected, an arrow indicator will appear on the left side of the active point. This is off by default. This indicator may be used when doing demonstrations for your patients, students or for self-learning.

Panning Mode: When this is on, you can move your mouse while you hold the button to pan the Acu-Chart image, and look at any part of the chart in detail. This is called Panning Mode. You can turn Panning Mode off or on by checking or unchecking the Panning selection in the right-click menu. This panning function is on by default when the program is initially installed. You can also turn it on or off by choosing Settings on the top menu and set it in the Settings Window.

Active Point: When this is selected, the active point is shown with a flashing color ball. This flashing active point is convenient for either your daily practice or for demonstration purposes. This is on by default, and recommended to be on all the times. To turn it off or on again, select or unselect this option in the right-click menu.

Male/Female: You can choose to display the male chart or female chart by selecting it in this popup menu.

Label: When this is on, there will be a text box displayed at the left side of the active point. The text box shows the alpha-numeric name and pinyin.

Description: When this is on, you can see a description about the active point when hovering over the label text box with oyur mouse. The description includes the point name, pinyin, English name, location, indications, and healing effects. Vertical scroll bar may be used to view entire content.

Click Locator: When this is on, you can click on any acupoint you see on the chart (if the point is shown with a 3D color ball), and the acupoint name will appear on the label text box, and its detailed description will be displayed when you hover over the label text box (make sure Description option is selected in the popup menu). If you click on a position where there is no 3D color ball, the label text box will display "?", meaning it is not an point available in the database. Please note that if you click on a position that is a point but not 3D color ball, it will still displays "?".

Audio: When this is selected, IAA will play an audio file - the active point's meridian, or alpha-numeric label name and pinyin after you click on a 3D-color ball indicated acupoint on the chart. These options for the content of what you want the audio to play can be chosen in a popup menu when right clicking anywhere within the audio play icon image.

.

Click to Add: While this option is on, whenever you click a 3D-color ball indicator, the acupoint will be added to the Selected Acupoints List. Be sure to first check whether the acupoint is already in the list of selected acupoints.

Point Sample: This option turns on or off the images of 14 3D color balls at the bottom of the chart that indicate the corresponding meridian's acupoints. When moving the mouse over any ball, the corresponding meridian name's abbreviation will be displayed for few seconds. Above the ball, if there is a red colored bar, it means that meridian is active, while if the bar is green, it indicates that meridian is on the same chart but not active, otherwise if there is no any bar above the ball, it means that meridian is not shown in the displayed chart. When clicking any ball, the corresponding meridian will be activated immediately. This is as the same as clicking on the meridian name in the meridian list.

On the bottom of the chart, there are 14 3D balls that indicate corresponding meridian's Acupoints. Clicking any of them will make the corresponding meridian immediately active.

Zoom: You can zoom in and out on the Acu-Chart image by clicking on the relevant buttons at the bottom of the chart. On the bottom on the left hand side, there is a zoom out button and on the right hand side is the zoom in button. Please note that only when the zoom is at 100% (actual size), will the Click Locator will correctly function. When turning on the Click Locator, the zoom will automatically change to 100%. When the Click Locator is turned off, double clicking on the chart image will shift the, zoom between maximum and minimum.

Full Screen Image: You can turn the Full Screen mode on if you check the "Full Screen" check box in the right-click menu. The full screen mode gives you a clear and comfortable view of the acupuncture chart. The Selected Acupoints List will be shown on the upper right corner of the screen.

Full-screen mode

By right clicking the Selected Acupoints list, it will be minimized to the lower right-hand corner. Clicking on the minimized list (the small pink box), will make the Acupoints List will show up again.

On full screen mode, you still can access all of the features listed in the popup menu except the Point Sample.

You can zoom in or out on the image in full screen mode by using the "+" or "-" button located in the bottom right of the window. Each click will zoom in or out by about 10% of the previous image size.
