Navigation of Meridians

IAA has ability to interactively and automatically display meridians and acupoints on these meridians to guild you through the meridians and acupoints in the energy flow order along the meridian or in whatever sequence you arranged. This is called Navigation of Meridians and Acupoints.

Meridians List, Active Meridian, Active Point

When the Operation Window starts, you will see the Meridians List at the left of the List Panel that displays 14 meridian names. The first meridian, Governing Vessel (GV, also called DU in original Chinese) meridian is selected by default, and at the same time, all of the Acupoints of the Governing Vessel meridian are also listed in the Acupoints List (next to the Meridians List). The GV Acupuncture Chart (Acupuncture Chart) on the right half panel of the window is displayed. The selected meridian is called the Active Meridian. The active meridian's name is shown on the top of the chart. Acupoints on each meridian are shown in the chart with a small color ball. When a meridian becomes active, the sample ball for the active meridian will be automatically shown at the top area of Acupoints Panel and near the Active Meridian's name.

When the meridian is first selected, the chart will show the first acupoint in the list as the Active Point. For GV meridian, the first shown Active Point is GV01: Chang Qiang. The active point is shown with a flashing ball. The active point is indicated by an Arrow Indicator at the left side of the point, and a Text Label is shown on the left side of the indicator. The arrow indicator and text label can be turned on or off when you right click the chart and choose the relevant item on the popup menu.

If you click on the Meridian List and select one of the other meridians, then IAA will automatically display all of the Acupoints and the Acu-Chart associated of the active meridian accordingly. Due to the high resolution of the image, some computers may be slightly slow when displaying the image. If you notice a slight delay before the image loads, it is normal.

Navigation of Meridians

1. To navigate all points on the active meridian, you can click on the Active Meridian Name or the title of Acupoints List. Then you will see that the active point continuously changes from one point to another. This navigation will keep going in a loop from the first point through the last point, and then continue to next loop over and over until you click on the Active Meridian Name or the title of Acupoints List again.

2. To change the speed of Meridian Acupoints' Navigation, the time interval between two points, use the progressive bar shown on the top right of the chart, next to the Active Meridian Name or set the time in seconds by typing a number in the text box. This progressive bar and time interval setting text box shows up only when the navigation is activated. (Refer to the screenshot below)

3. To navigate all points on all meridians, click the Title of the Meridian List, then the navigation starts in the order of meridians listed in the meridian list. Clicking the title of Active Meridian's name will stop the navigation.

3. To stop the navigation, simply click on the Active Meridian's name.

Active Point

Active Point is the currently selected acupoint. The active point is shown with a flashing color ball image (a small icon). When clicking an indicator ball on the chart, that point will be selected and become the active point. The flashing speed can be changed. To do so, click the Sample Icon of Active Meridian's Acupoints shown on the top of the chart, and you will see a small progressive bar. By changing the status of the progressive bar, the flashing speed of the active point will be changed (see the screen shot above).
